The following specialties can be found close to home at Sanford Tracy Medical Center: Allergy & Immunology, Cardiology, Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, and Urology.

Allergist / Jack Mutnick, MD

Allergy & Immunology is a medical specialty diagnosing and treating allergies, asthma and conditions affecting the immune system in children and adults and provide testing, diagnosis, treatment, and on-going management for a variety of immune-related conditions. We help patients identify the factors that trigger asthma and allergic disorders and help them prevent and control their condition—with the goal to improve their health and quality of life.


Cardiology / Kelly Steffen, DO and Marian Petrasko, MD


Cardiology is a medical specialty that includes the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Cardiologists manage patients for various problems such as chest pain, abnormal heart rhythms, high blood pressure, heart attacks, etc. In addition to providing innovative heart care, Sanford maintains the latest in advanced cardiac diagnostic technology which allows our physicians to detect and treat heart disease sooner and more effectively than ever.


Endoscopy / Joseph Willett, DO

Endoscopy is a medical specialty offering visual examination of the digestive system by means of an endoscope. This could be either an upper GI endoscopy or a colonoscopy.


General Surgery/ Efithimios Bakalakos, MD  and Tracy Kruse, MD

General Surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, bile ducts, appendix and thyroid gland. They also deal with diseases involving skin, breasts, soft tissue and hernias


Gastroenterology is a medical specialty that is concerned with the function and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, including stomach, intestines, liver, and gallbladder. This specialty treats conditions such as abdominal pain, ulcers, diarrhea, cancer, jaundice, and performs colonoscopies (exam of the colon) and upper gastrointestinal endoscopies (exam of esophagus and stomach).
 


Vascular / Chad Laurich, MD

Vascular is the study, diagnoisi and treatment of phelbology, sclerotherapy, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), vascular medicine and wound care.

Nephrology / Anthony Rupp, MD


Nephrology is a medical specialty that includes the study, diagnosis, and treatment of medical diseases of the kidneys. They manage high blood pressure, fluid and mineral balance, and dialysis of body wastes when the kidneys do not function.

Telemedicine is a consultative visit whereby specialty physicians can be seen via remote interactive video to assist in the treatment of patients while keeping services local.
 



Orthopedics / Erik Peterson, MD


Orthopedics is a medical specialty that includes the diagnosis, preservation, and treatment, of diseases, injuries, and defects of the bones, joints, and muscles including arthritis, fractures, congenital deformities, trauma, degenerative diseases, knee problems, hip trauma and joint replacement offering the latest in orthopedic care.
 



Urologist / Erol Uke, MD


Urology is a medical specialty that includes the diagnosis, and treatment of disorders and conditions of the urinary tract, including the kidneys, bladder, ureters and the urethra in men, women and children. We also treat conditions of the reproductive system in males. With leading urologists and advanced therapies we help patients improve their health and quality of life.

Oncology is a field of medicine that is devoted to cancer; the study, diagonosis and treatment of turmors taht consists of three primary disciplines: medical onocology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology.
